I’m on my second baby. This second time has been very healing. My first was a NICU baby who had a few things we had to monitor so my body quite literally was always in fight or flight mode making it hard to really enjoy (don’t worry we had good moments and those moments I hold very close) . With my second we breastfeed- this was a win. Every swallow , every little grip from her fingers I took in. I felt more patient, more relaxed, more experienced and less anxious. While my toddler still wants a cuddle every now and then this baby always wants to snuggle. It just draws all the stress out of my body. Every giggle she makes from her big sister playing with her melts me, it reminds me that none of this was for me it was for them to have each other. Every little smile she has is enough to make your day a little sweeter.
I wish I could go back one year ago and tell myself who just found she’s pregnant- it’s gonna be okay. The fear and guilt I carried never had a reason to exist. I handled everything god threw at me and he sent me a healing experience. That it’s okay to mourn an experience while celebrating another.
