As a first time mom, I was really scared about anything bad happens after delivery, so I did lots of research during pregnancy to see how can we avoid it.
Looking back, a few small habits made a big difference for me. I used belly oil every day starting early pregnancy to keep my skin comfortable as it stretched. Thus, I don’t have stretch marks. I also practiced gentle Kegel exercises starting from early pregnancy and light walks to stay active without overdoing it. I saw Momcozy introduced a maternity ball recently. I believe this will very very helpful! I don’t experience something like urine leakage or pubic bone pain.
I also started to use pregnancy pillow in about 4 months and it helped me sleep better and reduced back and hip discomfort. Even for now, I’m using it and I don’t have too much discomfort after delivery.
Finally, husband’s support is also helpful. My husband took me outside for sunshine so that I don’t suffer from losing too much calcium lol.
None of these things felt dramatic at the time, but my tip is simple: don’t wait until postpartum to take care of yourself. Small daily habits during pregnancy can make recovery, feeding, and those first weeks with your baby feel a little easier!
