Before becoming a mum, I truly believed preparation meant doing all the physical things. Buying the essentials. Washing the tiny clothes. Organizing drawers. I even tried to squeeze in all the last minute nesting the day before I actually gave birth, thinking if everything around me was ready, then I would be ready too.
But little did I know that the real preparation for motherhood is not just about the nursery or the hospital bag. It is preparing yourself mentally, emotionally, and physically for the weight and beauty of it all. The sleepless nights. The constant responsibility. The love that feels overwhelming in the most sacred way.
Slowing down, accepting that I would not have all the answers, and allowing myself to grow alongside my baby became the true preparation. Motherhood is less about having everything perfectly set up and more about strengthening your heart, your patience, and your resilience for the journey ahead ![]()
