One thing that I recommend is going shopping by yourself especially if you have multiple! It can feel like a huge vacation. Also there is a lot more room in the cart. A bonus you do not have to spend who knows how long in the toy isle. Yes I still take my kids occasionally but I try and save those for short trips. If it’s longer then chaos happens 
also my kids love looking at all the groceries when I come home and end up grabbing some to eat. He will even unload them and put the ones he wants away.

It’s so funny how true this is! I went to the Dollar Store alone the other day and it was so enjoyable. I was only there for 15 minutes, but it was so nice not to have to worry about keeping my daughter happy while I shop. I leisurely strolled the aisles without a worry in the world lol
