My boy is 3 weeks old tomorrow (man I can’t believe that!!!) and he’ll take a full bottle. 4 ounces, just fine. I’ll BF him and he’ll just get comfy and nurses a little and be done. So I go lay him down or leave him on me and he’ll wake up in like 5 mins wanting more
he did this ALL day today. Is he just being a normal 3 week old? I don’t recall my others doing that

My baby did that as well. Her dr said babies have to work harder at the breast then they do the bottle so they get tired out quicker

Yes, mine did that too. It’s also a comfort for them. My baby will still do this sometimes when he’s trying to fall asleep. He’ll nurse, fall asleep and as soon as the boob comes out he’s looking for it again lol. Sometimes I just chuckle lol he’s so dang cute!

Yes, you’re right. That’s a good way to look at it, to laugh. This is just such a short phase. We should really enjoy it all. Thank you for that reminder.

Believe it or not, it’s normal! They nurse sooo often when they are that young. It’s a good thing! That means you should have a really good milk supply for him! For the first 2 or 3 months, there’s not a whole lot of awake time with babies….like an hour or so at most. By the time you change their diaper, feed them, and let them lay on the floor for a few minutes, they’re ready for another nap! It’s so wild!
