This summer has been quite an experience with my two little ones. I love watching them grow, but honestly, the heat has been a real challenge for our routine. As a mom, it’s hard to keep things balanced; the heat makes us all a bit more irritable, and we’re really struggling with nap times. I understand it’s tough for them to sleep in this weather, but for my little one with CP, naps are essential so he doesn’t get too stressed by nighttime. Lately, with the summer heat, he’s been having some electrical discharges in his brain, and it breaks my heart to see him like that because I know he’s in pain. Sometimes I feel like summer is really testing me, but I try to find something good in every moment and just take it one day at a time. What I really need to make my summer days feel lighter is to simplify our chores, especially in the kitchen, to avoid that extra heat and have more energy to be present, calm, and patient with them. I’m new here and still learning how everything works, but I’m so excited to be part of this community and learn from you all! momcozyteamparents
Welcome to the community! Sending you the biggest virtual hug. Summer parenting is beautiful, but managing high heat, disrupted naps, and the extra medical worry you carry for your little boy is a massive undertaking. It is completely valid that you feel tested right now, you are doing incredible work!
Take it one sweat a day! ![]()

Thank you so much for your kind words, mama! It makes me so happy to be part of this community. Everything we do is for our kids, and at the end of the day, it’s all worth it. Today was just one of those hot days where my little one didn’t want to nap at all; it’s just one of those things, but it’s okay. I’m going to give him a bath soon to try and get him to sleep early, though we usually end up sleeping late anyway ![]()
. We’re just trying to survive and enjoy the process. Thanks for the warm welcome, it really makes me feel good to read your message. Sending you a huge hug back!![]()

Hoping tomorrow is better for yall! You’re doing a great job momma your babies are so lucky to have you.
The summer heat can be so hard on our little ones. I’m so sorry to hear about the electrical discharges in his brain. When it gets too hot, maybe some time in a kiddie pool or a lukewarm bath might help cool him off while keeping him entertained
Nap time can be a real challenge as they grow and their wake windows change. As soon as you think you have it all figured out, it changes! The sleep regressions are no joke!
First off I’m so happy you are here mama!!! And secondly you are an amazing mom looking out for your little one in the heat! I know it’s hard but you are doing amazing I just hope you know that!! I’m sending you so much love !
you got this and you are incredible
Thank you so much mama, sending you a big hug ![]()
Thank you so much for your advice and for your words mama, and yes absolutely the pool or a warm bath helps a lot to relax them but sometimes they are only there for a bit and try to sleep but 10 minutes later my kids are already awake because of the heat, and even though I have fans it happens that the heat is so strong that even the air comes out hot, it’s very frustrating for me to have to deal with summer right now because it already started in my city and it’s coming strong but I’m trying to get through things, today at least my little one the youngest did manage to fall asleep for about half an hour even though the oldest is refusing and that’s fine, it’s ok and I don’t force him to sleep but I do try to make sure he doesn’t drop his naps completely, thank you again for checking in ![]()
Thank you so much Jessy, I’m so excited and thrilled to be here, sorry if I can’t reply quickly but I’m just seeing how the site works, I know I’ll learn in time so I’m going to give it my all to be able to support you and keep contributing to the community, thank you again to everyone for the welcome and I send a big hug to all you girls, I hope you are having an excellent day ![]()
Thank you so much for your advice and for your words mama, and regarding the electric shocks let me tell you that last night it didn’t happen to him anymore, days ago it had happened to him so I’m very happy and proud in that part that it didn’t happen, let’s hope everything keeps flowing well even though summer is already going all out but I’m trying to make sure he rests as much as possible or as early as possible, before going to sleep I have to give him a bath so he doesn’t feel the sweat on his body and doesn’t struggle to fall asleep, I’ve been changing the routines with him especially at night because I definitely have to bathe him so he can rest more peacefully, plus the weather where I am is very weird and it’s so strange because sometimes it wakes up raining or in a single day all the seasons can change
today is also one of those hot days but everything is fine so far, sending you a big hug mama ![]()
That’s pretty brutal! It got like that for us last summer. So far, this year we’re doing alright, but we’re just getting started. We’ve had heat advisory’s the last couple days. I was reading somewhere that this summer is supposed to be especially hot. One thing that might help is a swamp cooler. I used to have one of those freestanding ones when we lived in Colorado without an air conditioner, and it worked really well even in 90-100 degree temperatures
Oh yes no worries !! I still can’t figure out what going on, on your end! It’s not happening to me so I’m trying to do a little research here !!! I hope it gets resolved soon
