Sunscreen & Mosquito Spray

First things first, make sure you check to see that your product is EWG verified. There are so many sunscreens and bug sprays that are unsafe for your baby, even though they are made for babies. I started with Hello Bello before I knew about the EWG website, and I regret it. Hello Bello sunscreen actually CAUSED a chemical burn on both my daughter and my husband. We learned the hard way!

If you are using both sunscreen and mosquito spray for your outing, be sure to apply sunscreen first, 10 minutes before you apply mosquito spray. I learned this one the hard way too…I did bug spray and then sunscreen, and the sunscreen didn’t work! A sunburned baby is no fun, but I did get to test out our new aloe vera, so I guess that kind of worked out in a sense.

I got some new sunscreen and mosquito spray for my daughter, which we have been using for 2 weeks now. For sunscreen, we have been using ThinkBaby. I got the sunscreen lotion, sunscreen stick, and aloe vera. It is such a great brand!! It’s very lightweight and non greasy.

The sunscreen rubs in very well, so it doesn’t leave a white residue. You do have to shake it up before using though, which hasn’t been a problem. It has a very light scent.

The sunscreen stick is perfect for using on their face. It prevents the product from running into their eyes. You just rub the stick over their face and rub it in.

The aloe vera worked very well. Like I said, I screwed up and used bug spray before sunscreen, and my baby got sunburned. The aloe vera soothed her skin, and the sunburn faded quite a bit the first day. By the end of day 2, it was gone.

For mosquito spray, I went with Babyganics. It is deet free and doesn’t have a super strong scent compared to traditional bug spray. So far, she hasn’t gotten any mosquito bites with this bug spray.

It’s so nice not to be worrying whether these products are safe for my baby! I love finding something that works

I love think baby! They work so well! They have a sheer baby one now too!

Oh cool! I’ll have to check that one out. What’s the difference between the sheer one and the standard one?

We just used it yesterday for blueberry picking. It rubs in a lot easier and less likely to leave white streaks. My husband doesn’t like the regular one for himself as he turns pretty white with it

That’s good to know! I can usually get the white rubbed in well enough. Maybe skin type has something to do with it? Interesting

I’m glad you guys like it too! The mosquito spray works well. I like to spray it in my hand and then rub it it on my daughter so I don’t use too much

You’re very welcome

With my son’s and I it’s not too bad and goes on pretty good, but my niece and husband are pretty tan so they tend to look pasty

It’s crazy how big the mosquito bites swell up! And then it takes 2 weeks for them to heal

You’re so welcome!
