When breastfeeding felt hardest, it wasn’t because of the nursing itself, it was the constant worry that I wasn’t enough.
Returning to work while exclusively breastfeeding was overwhelming. Balancing meetings, pumping sessions, and making sure I had enough milk for the next day often left me feeling exhausted and discouraged.
What helped me most wasn’t just one thing. It was reminding myself that I wasn’t doing this for me, staying consistent, giving myself grace, and reminding myself that one difficult day didn’t define my entire journey. The support and encouragement from other moms also meant more than I can put into words. Knowing I wasn’t alone gave me the strength to keep going.
Today, we’re still breastfeeding, and I’m so grateful I didn’t let the hard days write the ending to our story.
If you’re struggling right now, I hope you know this: trust your body, trust your baby, and give yourself grace. You’re doing an incredible job, even when it doesn’t feel like it.
