One tip that has helped me every time I leave the house is to make a list!! It’s been evolving and changing since they were newborns. This picture is the very first one I made to give myself more confidence and control in leaving the house with both of them. I don’t know if I have “mom brain” or just a generally forgetful person, but I feel like I’m ALWAYS leaving something- and now with two babies there’s just too many variables at play.
I like to make these when I’m in a calm mood after an outing or DURING the outing where I’m like “oh I wish I had ______!” And I will add to the list. They recently had their first sleepover at their grandma’s and this has been really helpful because it’s customized to them. And we add and subtract as they grow and their needs change so I can stay confident and feel like I can do this!
A list is such a smart move, especially if you are the type of person like me that tends to forget to pack stuff. Thank you so much for sharing this. This is really gonna help me.
You’re so smart to make a list! I’ve been going through things in my head for the last 18 months lol. Twins sound so awesome…I hope to have twins one day. I give you mad props for going through everything with two babies though! I know it’s a lot more work, and you are amazing!
I couldn’t agree more! I can’t do a mental checklist, I’ll still forget something I have a sticky note on my fridge with everything needed before leaving the house
This is such a smart idea! A checklist takes so much of the stress out of leaving the house, especially with little ones. I always think of something I forgot after I leave too!
I have lists for my son too! I have one for heading out of the house, but I also have a nightly one for the both of us to remind myself of things that usually need to get done!
