🥛 What Helped Me 🥛

One difficulty I had early in my pumping journey had started when my babies were in the NICU. I would pump for them and bring milk to their room to store in the fridge. I got used to pumping, writing a label, and documenting how much milk was made per pump. Now times that by 2 for each of my twins and it was stressing me out! I didn’t realize at the time but the extra steps I was doing continued when I was home with them.

What helped me SO much was realizing that I didn’t need to be so precise and that I could pivot with supplementing formula if I ran short on breast milk for the day. I switched to pumping and storing it in a glass jar for the whole day to make one big jar of milk. Instead of making all these little bags or small bottles. I stopped tracking and measuring. This changed my whole outlook on pumping to be honest and it took so much pressure off. I think it was a major pivot in my attitude and stress management. I can’t remember who I got that idea from but it has truly changed me and my pumping journey!

Yes! I would get so lost trying to keep track that I would drive myself to exhaustion. The pitcher method also helped me sooo much! Also saved me on bottles to wash lol

This is such great advice for twin mamas (and all pumping mamas)! The mental load of logging, labeling, and measuring every single pump on top of caring for two babies is exhausting. So glad you found a rhythm that lets you breathe. Hugs
