When your heart wants to stay home 🤎

I wish I knew how hard it was going to be going back to work. Even then after three it doesn’t get easier but it does prepare you to know the feeling.

Going back to work is always one of the hardest transitions for me. I truly love my job & before becoming a mom I was such a workaholic. I genuinely enjoy what I do, so I have no complaints there.

But after my oldest son’s diagnosis & major surgery, my perspective completely changed. It reminded me just how precious time is & how quickly it passes. If staying home with my babies was financially possible, I would do it in a heartbeat.

Living in California… especially where we do makes that really difficult. It’s so expensive that unless one spouse is making enough to comfortably cover everything, it’s just not realistic. I’m incredibly grateful that I have a career that allows me to work just one or two shifts a week while still helping with the bills & putting money into savings. I know that’s a blessing, and I don’t take it for granted.

Still… if I had the choice, I’d spend every extra day with my three little ones. But here I am. :joy::white_heart:

have so much respect for moms who work while also managing everything else that comes with motherhood.

Mostly! I know some moms personally that would rather be at work to get a break.

Right! We should. Procreating period is a J . O . B lol

It really does go by so fast. :white_heart: I wish we could have at least an entire first year at home our babies. I was fortunate enough to do that with my second, but it also came during one of the hardest times of my life.

I feel this deeply California is so expensive and I have been lucky to stay home this long but it hasn’t been comfortable financially. Time to return back and it’s absolutely terrifying

It’s one of the most anxious feelings being a mommy. I always call my husband or mom to make sure they’re okay. California is ridiculous! At least the gas prices are finally going down. We were at $6.10 and now it’s back down to $4.80

Yes. Being home with them does have its challenges. But it is very rewarding. I am thankful enough when I go back to work my son comes with me.

Oh wow! That’s nice. What do you do? I’m assuming they have a little day care area?

Do you skate? Literally when I first when snowboarding I thought it’d be the same. Nope I was entirely wrong :melting_face:

I work in childcare in an infant program. It can be challenging working with your baby tho.
