*LONG POST* Very interesting day today so I went for my routine monitoring that I do twice a week. I was suppose to go at 1240 but I went to Pilates at 1 and went to monitor after. So I’m there for about 15-20, the nurse comes in like hey umm do you feel any contractions? I’m like well I’m having a lil lower back pain and I feel the tightness in my stomach. She’s like ok because you’re definitely having contractions and they are back to back (for about 20m) so drink some water to see if it helps. I drank a whole thing of water then had to use the restroom, they told me pee in a cup just to make sure it’s not a UTI or fluid because I’m only 34w, got the results back within 15m and everything was negative. The contractions slowed down after I used the bathroom but within the next 5-10m I had to keep using the bathroom because of all the water lol. They monitored me for 20 more minutes. She was so concerned she almost admitted me and wanted a doctor to check me, meanwhile I was barely feeling them. Once they suddenly went away, they allowed me to go home, still no clue what happened, but recommended me to drink plenty of water which I do. And when I feel them again (which that was the first) to try and empty my bladder, which of course I already do. Baby did well throughout the whole process, she was going to do a ultrasound but they stopped, I feel she still should’ve just to be sure but yeah. I came to my own conclusions that they were most likely Braxton hicks but yeah. Have anyone else experienced anything like that. I know whatever they were it’s only the beginning and they will get stronger in active labor but it was a breeze, and gave me more motivation of I can do it natural and I’m still me, in control. ![]()

You know I’ve had similar ish situations it’s so scary but it sounds like you kick butt and handled it like a champion!!! So happy baby did too, just like their mama!! But again sorry you had to go through that still a little anxiety inducing!!
And btw you definitely got this birth thing !! You are going to rock it
It sounds like you may have been dehydrated! It’s happened to me a few times, I would just keep up with your water and electrolytes it’s so easy to get dehydrated in this heat
So glad you and baby are okay and back home ![]()
Thank you so much I truly appreciate that. ![]()
I’m hoping so, I think baby will come on his own before they try to induce me which will be great. But time will tell.
But I literally drink sooo much water. I had two bottles of water before I went in plus they gave me water when I first got there before the contractions. All I drink is water all day. But I mean it still is possible so I’m not sure.
I also had something very similar happen and between that and baby’s heart rate they said they were probably going to send me to L&D but it resolved and all was good! Those contractions were non existent, but the labor ones.. were very much there lol
So glad everything turned out fine and baby is doing great! Dehydration and a full bladder can definitely trigger those sneaky Braxton Hicks. Love your positive mindset! You already know you’ve got this! ![]()

See lol I just know the real ones are going to get real super quick lol but I’m going to try my hardest to get through them.
Thank you. It was the first time I’ve felt contractions, so I’m just glad I know what to look for and how it feels so when and if it happens again.
Oh wow! Baby just wanted to make sure you were prepared
give you a little test run
But so glad you are both okay now and baby decided to stay in longer ![]()
I know right lol, thank you so much. ![]()

How have you been feeling today?!! Any better !! And that might be the case but like you said only time will tell
I’ve been okay thank you. I think I had a few today as well. But my mom came over to help me clear some little stuff I had. But I had to get that done before baby comes.
