Foodie at heart just hiding for now

A lot has changed since I became a mom. Before motherhood, I was an absolute foodie. Food was a huge passion of mine, but when my daughter was born and we discovered her many food intolerances, including dairy, egg, tree nuts, sesame, banana, and avocado, my relationship with food completely changed. I had to eliminate those foods while breastfeeding her, and for a while, eating out, trying new things, and exploring food just weren’t really part of my life anymore.

Eventually, I adapted and even found a new way to be a foodie, creating things like completely dairy- and egg-free lemon meringue pie pancakes. But now, with two kids, work, and life, that part of me is on pause again. I know I’ll find my way back to it. I’m just not there yet.

That’s part of what makes my journey with Momcozy so meaningful. I originally discovered Momcozy when I received the Air 1 through a testing program. I downloaded the app because I needed it to test the pump, fully expecting that to be the end of my experience. Instead, the pump quickly became my go-to when I was away from home, and eventually I discovered the Community, Cozy Points, and the Momcozy Facebook groups.

What started as testing a pump turned into finding a community I genuinely love.

My most memorable Momcozy experience isn’t one specific product or moment. It’s this community. Watching it grow and seeing how supportive and encouraging the moms here are has meant so much to me. It feels like a safe little corner of the internet where moms can connect, laugh, learn, and support one another.

And that’s what “Mom and More” means to me.

I am a mom. It’s a huge part of who I am now, but it’s not all that I am. I’m still the foodie, the person with passions and hobbies, and the woman I was before motherhood. Some of those parts of me are simply paused right now.

I’m still here. And eventually, I’ll find my way back to all of them.

Thank you for sharing such a meaningful and honest part of your journey. Motherhood can reshape so many things—including our relationship with the passions that once defined us—and we love how beautifully you’re finding new ways to stay connected to the foodie you’ve always been.

Your dairy- and egg-free lemon meringue pie pancakes sound incredible! And your Momcozy story is such a wonderful reminder that sometimes a simple starting point can lead us to something much more meaningful: connection, encouragement, and community.

We’re so grateful this has become a safe corner for you to laugh, learn, and feel supported. You are a mom, but you are also a foodie, a woman with dreams and passions, and so much more. Those parts of you aren’t gone—they’re simply waiting for the right time to shine again. :yellow_heart:

I’m so glad I read your post because I got to learn more about you

I am also a foodie and I love trying new foods and I know that must be hard having to eliminate certain foods because of your daughter‘s dietary restrictions but it also gives you a chance to try new recipes.

I do agree that this community really is amazing :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Love your story! My experience of being a foodie has also changed, and I am discovering my daughter’s intolerances as well as battling my own. No one warns you.

It feels good knowing one is not alone in this motherhood world.

HEY!!! Im allergic to avocados!!!:avocado: I don’t meet a lot of others with intolerance to them, but anyway that dish looks delicious and you will be able to enjoy all the foods again in no time! I love that so many of us got connected to one another with a pump haha sounds so simple but it’s actually so powerful!!! And incredible I’m so happy you are here in the community and being a huge part of what support looks like to each and everyone one of us

I can only imagine how rough it must be as a foodie having to change your diet so much! We give up so much for our kids that it can be easy to lose yourself. I know I did for awhile. I just love how you have found a way to be creative and work with what you can to try new recipes. I’m a beginner cook over here, and am learning how to make all the toddler friendly foods. So far it’s mostly fruits, veggies, and pasta. I have yet to figure out how to get my daughter to eat meat.

Hi Barb,

I can only imagine how challenging it is navigating food allergies! You are incredible not only navigating it but learning to love food without using the certain foods. I love that you were able to test the air 1! That’s amazing! I love the air 1 so much so thank you for your contribution to it! Your dessert looks so yummy!

Thank you mamma. I look forward to seeing so much more of you here !

What a huge change in diet to make sure your little one is eating comfortably. You’re such a good mama! I love being a foodie and I don’t know how I’d build up the strength or where to even start to supplement things I love! But if I ever did I know exactly who to reach out to. :brown_heart:
