Hey fantastic mommy’s, So my little girl is 12 weeks old & from birth until now she has really clinged onto me and has cluster fed. With that being said I have been unable to pump and store breast milk.. period! I will say I have attempted pumping several times and I continued to get discouraged because I wasn’t getting “what I thought I should be getting” and that was a whole mental mess of uncertainty in itself. Today I purchased a new pump, one that I knew would work perfectly due to my sisters milk supply. I pumped and got 5oz! Yallll I go back to work the beginning of next month like my maturity leave ends August 31st and I’m so afraid with so much anxiety that I will not have enough milk stored up for my EmberLeigh. Do you momma have any recommendations or suggestions for me? Should I pump every 3 hrs now? And store store store?? No one teaches you how to do this and keep things consistent when going back to work is necessary for the family. Please comment, I could really use support.
I don’t have a huge supply myself but my advice is to drink constantly so you’re hydrated and maybe do some power pumping and stick to the 2 hour schedule of
Pumping. It’ll be a lot for sure as I still have yet to master the 2 hour schedule but I’m gonna keep trying. I’m so glad you found a pump that works!!
Hey mama!!! Try to just store what ever you have and pump after you nurse even if it’s not a lot stay consistent and you should get results and power pump as well if you can
Drink so much water and electrolytes
Eat lots of oats and flax!!! You got this mama !!! You are doing AMAZING
Staying hydrated and eating enough is so important. Stick to a pumping schedule and pump after you nurse. Middle of the night pumps and first thing in the morning pumps are so important because your prolactin levels are the highest and that’s when you make the most milk.
Try to store whatever you get mom. Even if it’s just one ounce. If you pump three times a day and get one ounce each that still three extra ounces. I understand having to go back to work and pump. Just try to drink a lot of water and use that Ada accommodation and stick to a good pumping routine. You got this love!!!
Amazing mama! I’m glad you tried a new pump out and it worked!
