I’m a first time mom exclusively breastfeeding i recently started pumping bc I go back to work at the end of the month any tips on how to increase my supply. I wanna make sure I have enough milk for my baby while I’m at work
Welcome, Mari! Going back to work is a big step, but you’ve got this! A great way to build a stash is adding a short pump right after your baby’s first morning feed when supply is naturally highest. Power pumping once a day also works wonders to boost supply. Stay super hydrated, and remember, you only need enough saved to cover your very first day away! ![]()
Going to back to work is stressful but you’ve got this momma! Drink plenty of water I add electrolytes to mine, make sure your flange size is correct, I pump one side while I am feeding my baby or will pump after a feed to signal My body to make more milk and you could also try power pumping.
Drink more water even if you drink alot!! Add a pump session and be strict with you schedule! You got this mamma.
If you can take a look at this post from another member Dakota. I think it’s very useful. I do agree a lot with it because these are the four things I look for whenever I’m low in supply. ![]()
I started power pumping in the mornings and then of course supply and demand you increase the demand you increase the supply so every 2-3 hours of pumping !
HYDRATE drink so much water and add some type of an electrolyte drink to the mix if you can!
Have baby latch whenever you possibly can as well even if it’s for a second
Oats and flax and brewers yeast I love and I also do moringa leaf but supplements can be a hit or miss
