Hi everyone! Nice to meet you guys. Can’t believe it has been almost half a year since I joined in this community. I’d really to hear your stories! I’m currently based in Los Angeles, hope to meet with some of you when Momcozy holds another event in Beverly Hills!
Here is my story…
I’m a mom, but I’m also a mathematician with a math PhD. Before becoming a mom, my daily life is solving complex problems, building my career.
When I became a mom, I found that none of my old formulas seemed to work anymore. My days became a mix of feeding, pumping, diaper changes, and trying to understand baby. Math problems have only one correct solution, but every baby is different. There is no correct answer for taking care of the baby!
But then I realized that motherhood didn’t erase the woman I was before. It simply added a whole new dimension to her. I found myself more patient. I was able to slow down and talking with baby with “da da da” Now I can be the mom who spends her day taking care of a tiny human, and the woman who loves math, learning, working, dreaming, and having goals of her own.
A math PhD! That is so impressive. Your line about how ‘math problems have one correct solution, but every baby is different’ is such a brilliant, real observation. Motherhood really does add a whole new dimension rather than taking anything away. So glad you’re part of this community!

As someone whose weakness is math I am so jealous you find math in every day life and things you do! I wish I was better at math and what’s funny is my dad is a really mathy kinda guy he told me once that the whole world is math if you really understand it and that I found pretty cool

Haha once you understand math, you will find it’s beautiful. Just like your trail, the beautiful part is not trail itself, it’s everything you see, you experience~~ I can’t wait to meet you in the next event!
It’s crazy how much it changes you! Like I still feel like I have the same personality for the most part. It’s actually made me more kind and patient…not that I was mean before ir anything lol. I never realized how selfish I was though until I had my daughter. It was a real eye opener.
