Does anyone feel extremely guilty about not having time for their pets or feeling overstimulated for me? I often feel overstimulated when my dog is barking and then I get upset and then I get even more upset because I feel so bad that I’m just not there for her anymore. Before Kids, it was just me and my husband and my dog when we do get to cuddle they are extra precious moments. It’s just rare when it gets to happen anymore.

OMG yes! It does get better tho. My 4 year old and are dog are best buds now. But when we had our youngest we went through the stage again. Both my kids absolutely love our dog but my hormones made me want to re-home him for a while. Thank goodness we didn’t. Our dog is also the no fun police and will bark when our kids are up to no good.

Yes I do feel so bad I don’t have as much time for my dogs anymore but I try to make time when I can. My golden retriever goes with me to close the chicken coop at night if she is outside still and I normally just walk down there and the other night she was sitting on the golf cart and I called her to go and she wouldn’t come to me and I was half way there and she kept sitting on the golf cart I almost ignored her and then she barked at me so said fine I will take you for a ride I turned around and got on the golf cart to go down there and when I closed the door and got back on the golf cart I saw a copper head snake right by the fence moving from where I was just standing and if I had not stopped and turned around to get her I probably wouldn’t have seen it and got bitten.

Yes absolutely! Our dog just turned 2 and he’s 90 pounds now. I find myself not wanting him near the babies because he barks so loud and wakes them and then it’s a chain of barking and screaming/crying. So he’s usually in the other room which I do feel bad about.

You have no idea! I’m a single mom to newborn triplets but my first baby was my Goldendoodle. I went through 4 years of fertility treatments and 12 first trimester losses. While I was mourning my reoccurring losses I decided to get a puppy to keep my mind off things. During my pregnancy she was literally glued to me. Always with her head on my belly listening to their heartbeats and feeling their kicks. She’s literally the best big sister to my girls but I don’t have time to go on walks as much or take her to the dog park any longer. I don’t even have time to brush her every day like I used to. Sometimes I look at her and she seems so sad and I feel horrible. I’m still learning how to balance being a single mom to triplets and a fur mama. It definitely breaks my heart but when the babies are sleeping or I’m able to, I always try to make time for Lila so she knows she’s still my girl. newcozymom

I have no advice but I just want to say she is a cute dog! I love the little spot on her head!

Oh my goodness!!! That is so scary with the snake. It makes me so sad how things change with our dogs because we lose time. I’m so happy you did that ride!!

Our sweet Nova girl… we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go because she had a slipped disc in her spinal cord that was causing her so much pain.

I carried a lot of mom guilt because at the time we were over an hour away in the hospital with our second baby, who was in the NICU for a little over a month. I always felt like I had let her down that I wasn’t there for her when she needed me most.

She’ll always be our little girl and I miss her everyday.

Oh, I’m so sorry that is so heartbreaking!!! you did the right thing, but I know that had to have been so hard. She was such a gorgeous babe.

She was such a good and smart. It’ll be 2 years in October since she went to doggy heaven. My husband is ready for another dog but I don’t think I can go through that pain again.
