So we went outside for only 20 minutes around 4pm yesterday. We’ve been going out every morning for 2 hours without getting sunburned, so I figured a short adventure in the backyard would be okay. We only spent 5 minutes in direct sunlight and we are sunburned. So if you are going to take your little one outside in the afternoon on a heat advisory day, even for a short amount of time, be sure to use some sunscreen. It’s definitely better to take them outside in the mornings before noon to play is what we have discovered.

I’m in Texas and we usually go outside in the morning. If we go outside in the afternoon, we are usually under an umbrella. If we go to someone’s house that has a pool, we try to swim when the pool js shaded.
