On my first pregnancy I wish I knew that motherhood isn’t about having all the answers it’s about learning as you go.
I wish I knew that healing after birth takes time, whether you have a vaginal delivery or a C-section. Your body has done something incredible, and it deserves patience and grace.
I wish I knew that sleep deprivation could affect every part of me, my emotions, my confidence, and even my ability to enjoy the little moments. Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness.
I wish I knew that breastfeeding doesn’t always come naturally. It’s a journey filled with learning, challenges, and perseverance, and however you feed your baby, you’re doing an amazing job.
I wish I knew that my house wouldn’t always be spotless, the laundry would pile up, and some days survival would be enough. That’s okay.
I wish I knew that everyone would have opinions on how I should parent, but at the end of the day, I’m the one who knows my baby best.
I wish I knew that it’s okay to set boundaries. You don’t have to entertain visitors, answer every text, or let everyone hold your baby if you’re not comfortable.
I wish I knew that I would sometimes miss the person I was before becoming a mom and that doesn’t make me a bad mother. It makes me human.
Most of all, I wish I knew that I was stronger than I ever imagined. The hard days don’t last forever, and one day you’ll look back and realize you made it through every sleepless night, every tear, and every moment of doubt.
To every first-time mom reading this give yourself grace. You’re learning, your baby is learning, and you’re both growing together![]()
