Keep telling your baby NO when they start biting, they are teething so they do it unintentionally but telling them No will make them stop. It’s painful but we can’t stop feeding them.

Yes, you definitely have to be firm. You have to try not to have a strong reaction and calmly say no. One thing I also did was put my daughter in her crib immediately after saying no and leave the room for one minute. She would cry, and then I would pick her back up after that minute and nurse her again. It only took 3 times of doing this for her to understand.
