First, check whether your sitting posture is correct. The proper posture for pumping is to sit upright, lean forward 45 degrees, and keep the container upright after pumping. Additionally, it is recommended to replace parts every 1 to 2 months.
Here’s how to troubleshoot Momcozy’s leak problems:
- Leaking from silicone:
If the leak is coming from the edge of the silicone, it may not be snapped in all the way. It’s also possible that the silicone is faulty or warped.
PLEASE NOTE: Heat sterilizing or placing Momcozy washable parts in the dishwasher or microwave oven is not recommended. - Leaking from motor or collection cup:
If the leak is coming from between the motor and collection cup, ensure that the collection cup and motor are fully secured. Another possibility is that the collection cup is cracked, causing pressure from the suction to overflow through the crack. To resolve this, maintain the correct posture and secure the connection with tape if necessary. - Leaking from the milk pour hole:
If the leak is coming from the pour hole, make sure the silicone shield notch and the collection cup notch are aligned when snapping the pieces together. Misalignment can cause leaking through the holes. - Leaking from flange hole:
If the leak is coming from the flange hole, it could be caused by leaning back too far. Additionally, if the duckbill valve slit is opened, it may need to be replaced to prevent milk from traveling back up into the flange during strong movements.
Other Tips:
- Removing the pump:
Tilt it forward 45 degrees and carefully remove it. If using a nursing bra, it is best to unclip the detachable clip. Ensure there is enough space to remove the pump without touching the silicone flange. - Pouring milk:
Keep the flange entrance facing upward while pouring milk.
