✍️ What I Learned From 3 Babies and Countless Night Feeds (phase 2/3)

Nighttime with my baby felt like a whole different world, especially when I was waking up to feed and pump. One thing I learned was making my nighttime routine as simple as possible. I kept everything I needed within reach! water, snacks, burp cloths, pump parts, HUSBAND  and a dim night light :light_bulb:so I wasn’t fully waking myself up every time.

For the night feeds, I learned to follow my baby’s cues instead of stressing about creating a “perfect” schedule. Babies are constantly changing, so finding a rhythm that worked for us (feed, burp, diaper if needed, then back to sleep) made our nights feel less overwhelming.

For pumping, I found that staying consistent and preparing ahead made a huge difference. Having my pump ready to go, knowing my settings, and not having to search for parts at 2 AM saved so much mental energy. I would use my wearables and switch next session to my spectra while my other pumps dried. Also, I snacked late night to stay awake. :face_savoring_food:

For soothing, I tried to keep nighttime boring: low lights, minimal talking and calm movements. It helped baby understand that nighttime was for sleeping. But most importantly, give yourself grace. Some nights will be smooth and some nights will feel endless. You’re still doing an amazing job, even when you’re running on very little sleep. :brown_heart: remember all of us mamas have been there. You’re not alone xoxo!

I couldn’t agree more with all you said!

I also keep my pump parts clean and ready to go for my MOTN pump!

I’ve done it a couple of times where my pumps weren’t clean and I was like nope, absolutely not. When I’m done pumping I clean them right after I store the milk lol.
