✨ What Would Have Helped Me ✨

This may sound silly but but the very first question I ever googled the day after I gave birth was how many times a day should I pump if I’m nursing.

As someone who did zero research before having my baby I was shocked it was every 2-3 hours

Had no clue how I was going to pull it off or what pumps I even needed! I wish I had done more research when I was pregnant!! I wish I reached out to a lactation consultant prior and I wish i was more prepared but hey :waving_hand: here we are 9 months later making it happen !!

Shout out to my beautiful W1

Haaa same here. Zero research before hand:rofl::face_with_spiral_eyes:. I was so overwhelmed with everything, I decided I’d just cross every bridge when I came to it and not a minute before :rofl:

That is exactly how I was !!! I was like let’s get through the whole birthing a human part first  but I really do wish I had some some research because I was LOST when we came home from the hospital

The things is…you didn’t know you needed to research. You probably had no clue it was going to be as hard as it was going to be just like me. Doctors need to do a better job with preparing new moms!!

I couldn’t agree more no one talked to me about any of this and even when I sort of brought up I wanted to collect colostrum before my obgyn just said do it at this time and didn’t give me any help so I gave up, I didn’t even know what a lactation consultant was !!! And then later found out we had a lactation lounge local group that pregnant women are invited to to help educate them I love seeing it but I wish I knew before

BIGGG TIME!! I think o was hyper fixated on the whole labor and birth I didn’t think much about the lactation part and didn’t realize there was SO MUCH TO IT

Isn’t it crazy how we prepare the house, the nursery, the hospital bag etc. and forget entirely about a breast pump??? lol. My first delivery resulted in nicu babies. I know I was pumping with standard 24mm flanges. I’m lucky I figured out how to put them together lets be honest. We’ve come a long way!!!:rofl:

Me too! I started off pumping 4-5x a day my first journey and my supply was so low. I too wish I did more research and seen a LC sooner!

I think it’s so funny!!! Why is that !! Why aren’t we talking to our fellow pregnant mamas more about what to expect when I comes to breastfeeding and pumping it’s such a HUGE part of the postpartum experience

I think our OBGYNs should do better about getting us prepared for this stuff! especially a 1st time mom! Or at least sending us I. The right direction
