Makes me so sad to know that so many in health care don’t have appropriate discussions about important topics like this, and as a healthcare professional myself I’ve seen it SO OFTEN that some days it almost feels like the rule and not the exception. I’m so glad that there are other ways for us to obtain information though. Thank you for bringing this up, talking about our experiences is an amazing tool, we never know how what we went through may end up sparking a discussion between someone else and their healthcare providers, leading to better outcomes in the end.
Exactly. It’s heartbreaking when something is offered to patients, but the potential risks aren’t always fully discussed. I too am so grateful we have communities like this where mamas can share their experiences & learn from one another. You never know whose life your story might impact
it could help one mama, ten mamas or even hundreds. That’s the beauty of sharing our journeys. ![]()
I’m so sorry you lost your supply to birth control. That is so hard. I wish they provided all the side effects. You are amazing! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for sharing this because I had no idea that birth control could impact your milk supply and I know this will help a lot of moms. I’m glad everything worked out for you and you are doing great. ![]()
I’m so glad I can share my experience! Looking back, I really do feel like I was stripped of the full breastfeeding experience with my first. But I’m also so grateful that my son transitioned to formula so smoothly and continued to thrive.
Those days are behind us now & I’m incredibly thankful that I didn’t have to go through that with my last two postpartum feeding journeys. Every experience has taught me something & I’m just grateful to have had the opportunity to breastfeed them the way I hoped to. ![]()
Thank you so much! That’s exactly why I love sharing our stories. I will never know who might need to hear them & if my experience can help even one mom feel more informed, supported or less alone, then it’s all worth it. I’m so thankful I’ve been able to do that for some moms & I hope to continue doing so. ![]()
That’s an amazing positive way to think of it. I’m glad your last 2 breastfeeding journeys were better.
