What helped me ❤️

Six years ago, I started my first breastfeeding journey with my oldest daughter and like most first time moms I had no idea where to start. She spent a few days in the NICU and while she was there, she was given formula and they kept pushing it and after we got home I felt like I needed to keep supplementing. I wish I had known more about breastfeeding and had more support instead of them making me feel like I wasn’t producing enough and just telling me to switch to formula. Seeing moms on social media pumping huge amounts of milk and filling freezers, made me convince myself I wasn’t making enough as well. Looking back, I wish I had known that pumping 2–4 ounces total in a session is completely normal for many moms.

With my second baby, I realized my pump wasn’t working well for me, so I switched to the Momcozy S9 Pro wearable pump, and it made a huge difference for me. What really helped me was that I learned how important the right flange size, staying hydrated, and eating enough protein are for maintaining your supply and also having a wearable and being able to pump on the go or while I was cleaning and playing with my daughter helped me a lot because I wasn’t tied down to a pump like I was with my 1st baby.

Now I’m six months into my third breastfeeding journey and having the right pumping set up makes a big difference and the Momcozy Wellness 1 pump has been a big part of helping to increase my supply and help me have a small amount of milk in the freezer.

If you’re a new mom wondering if you’re making enough, don’t compare yourself to social media. Your breastfeeding journey doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s it’s ok to give them formula and put your mental health first. Your baby doesn’t need a freezer full of milk they just need you and as long as they’re healthy, happy, and fed, you’re doing an amazing job.

I wish I knew this my first journey! I pushed myself so hard to feed my freezer and ultimately left me stressed out causing a dip in my supply and struggling to feel my baby at that point it was no longer about feeding my freezer

The Momcozy Community is the best! I am so thankful for all the information available to first time moms on here so they don’t have to feel alone and feel like they don’t know what they are doing!

I’m sorry you had to go through that it is so stressful

It’s crazy bc as a first time mom that’s all I saw on social media was filling your freezer, and I was very disappointed in the beginning when I couldn’t do that

I was seeing that as well and it was so discouraging then I realized that you are just seeing what others want you to see and most of the time it isn’t reality. When I realized that every journey is different and that is ok and it helped me so much!

Having some in the freezer for emergencies like a dip in supply is awesome!

It’s hard not to but I helps so much when you are able to let that go.

This is such good information!
