My baby boy has finally reached the destination. It has been a very long overwhelming 4 Day induction. Nothing in no way shape or form went the way I desired it to.

No matter how you intend for your birth to go, be prepared that it may not go that way. Quick summary, I came in 8/16 0cm, cervix fully closed, baby high up. I assumed to at least be 1-2cm considering how active I was throughout my pregnancy. With gestational diabetes I wasn’t allowed to go over 40w, I’m glad I fought for the 16th because they wanted me even earlier on the 12th. Baby was just super comfy and didn’t want to come out. 1st day I was given 3 pills soften my cervix (2 orally, 1 vaginally), no progress. Did the balloon method (took two tries, the absolute worst), 3cm when it came out. 2nd day broke my water to get things going, also put on Pitocin. 3rd day got between 5-6ish cm. IV failed and had to be switched which also stopped Pitocin plus baby heart was dropping as contractions were getting stronger. Did all kinds of exercises to get baby to come down more &things of that source. I was able to the take pain/pressure of the contractions but I was just so exhausted and not progressing. 4th day new shift of nurses, they checked I was 6 1/2 but basically same as what previous doctor had examined. I gave in to the epidural to get some rest and let my body relax. My water had been broken for way too long, although they put fluid in me twice to give baby wiggle room to move around. I would say the nurses/doctors tried everything they/we could to get him out vaginally but he just wouldn’t come down, the most he did was a tad bit of crowing but that’s it and stalled. Hours went by and the head doctor comes in to do a check, she was very pushy, I wasn’t feeling the vibe, asked for someone else, she was amazing and calming, got the C-section done, they were finish within literally about 30-40m. Felt lots of pressure and tugging getting baby out but he’s finally here. It all went smoothly, he was even born at the same exact time as me 5:58pm. (Sorry not so much a quick summary lol.) He’s currently in NICU most likely for just 2 days but probably less he’s doing really good, they are giving him formula (I asked for breast milk but they didn’t have any, only postpartum where I am now which NICU won’t accept) because my milk is not coming in yet but I’m trying my best and still pumping even when nothing comes out. Praying it comes down soon.

I’m sorry you went through four days of being in the hospital trying to get him to come out. That’s a lot to go through. In the end, what’s important is that he’s out and healthy. Now just hang in there. I know you’re sore and exhausted, but keep pumping at least every 2 hours, and hopefully that should get your milk flowing. I’m so proud of you. You’re one tough mama! 
Welcome to the outside world, baby boy! You fought so hard through that long induction! I had a very similar experience. We tried everything for a vaginal birth, but she just wouldn’t come down so I had to get cut too. You are so strong! Sending you so much love while he’s in the NICU. Keep pumping, stay hydrated, and rest as much as you can, your milk will get the signal soon!
