Battle Bites

My daughter doesn’t only fight bedtime. She fights naptime too now! I have to wait until she is literally exhausted to get her to take a nap or go to bed. She’s having a bad teething week on top of that…perhaps the cause of said sleep fighting. But now she is biting my nips while I’m trying to nurse her to sleep. Nursing is the primary way she falls asleep. She’s not biting super hard, but hard enough to startle me. I fear she might bite too hard one day. I’m scared guys!! I thought I had broken her of this habit…she hasn’t done it since she was 6 months old. I tried what I did then to get her to stop doing it, and it’s not working. Has anyone dealt with nursing a young toddler biting your nips? What should I do? I don’t wanna lose a nipple!

Yes and it is painful  It definitely startles you stoped nursing when they would do that tell them to not bite and then try it again after a little while and repeat the process if they did it again. I know that probably isn’t much help :woman_facepalming:t2:

It’s all good! That’s pretty much what I’ve been doing. I discovered real quick that she didn’t do it by accident when I tried offering a boob again :joy: I’ve been letting her chew on her sippy cup after brushing her teeth a little longer now since she chews on the silicone spout. Better the sippy cup than me!

Yes! They have chew tubes on Amazon for teething it might help since she likes to chew on the straw they have all kinds of options

That’s a good idea. I will have to check those out. That sounds like something she would enjoy chewing on
