Breastfeeding with a breast reduction history

My breastfeeding journey was not easy and I knew nothing. I had very little help. I had almost no information before I had my baby about breastfeeding. I didn’t even know when I should start using a pump. The LC when I gave birth came in a few times but then had to leave because of tests and whatnot. I should have asked for her to come again but I was so out of it due to mag and pit, no sleep combo.

At about 11 weeks postpartum or a bit earlier, I went to the hospital LC. She helped but then they closed the L&D unit which didn’t help me. I tried another and it just didn’t work. I then found this great LC who came to my house spent like two hours with us. She was great and checked in to see how I was doing. She also made sure I knew how to use the wall pump I didn’t even know I had that a mom had gifted it. I am so thankful to her.

Also during that time I found Facebook groups. The Momcozy groups were the most helpful and I found moms who had similar issues. I am a bit of a unicorn since I have many medical issues and had a breast reduction about 17 years ago. I know some don’t want to speak about a reduction but I would love to hear and some more breastfeeding stories of those mom’s. I can assure you it will help another mama.:sparkling_heart:
