Early days of breastfeeding

What helped me especially early on during my breastfeeding journey was listening to my baby and body! If my baby wanted to eat I would offer. If my breast felt full, but baby wasn’t interested I would pump.

I tried following the every 2-3 hours but my son wouldn’t and couldn’t wait that long. Watching the clock and timing everything was a huge strain on my mental health. I started focusing on my baby and his signs of readiness.

This helped me so much! Surprisingly it helped my supply too. I wasn’t as stressed how long he’s gone for a feed. 9/10 times he would eat between 1.5-2 hours mark.

We finally reached 3 hour mark around 10 months. Around this time I did notice a reduction in supply but we also transition to his own room. Now at 14 months we nurse 3-4 times a day.
