I wish I didn't feel guilty about wanting to stop breastfeeding 🤱

I wish I didn’t feel guilty about wanting to stop breastfeeding. Breastfeeding has been really difficult for me from the hospital to home, I was combo feeding. It’s been a mental f**** trying to figure out what’s wrong with my supply. I started out with the pump from the hospital, it wasn’t effective, turns out the flange was too big, switched to smaller flange, switched to a different Momcozy pump with smaller flange and things have gotten a lot better. But I’m still struggling with knowing how much baby is eating, if I should top off with formula or if I should pump right after feeds. We fixed his tongue tie and now I’m mentally exhausted with figuring out the best way to feed our baby - wishing I could just wean off completely without feeling super guilty.

First off ! The amount of effort you have put in shows how much love you have for your baby!! You can keep trying if you want but YOUR MENTAL HEALTH COMES FIRST!!! If you want to switch and wean there is absolutely nothing wrong with that and you should be proud of yourself for the amount you gave your baby already and how hard you tried!! It is your choice but there is no guilt needed ! You work matters and it shows how amazing of a mama you are :people_hugging::heart_hands::heart:

Breastfeeding is hard and you are doing a great job! You need to do what is best for you and your mental health and shouldn’t feel guilty about it. You know what is best for you and your baby!

I know there’s a lot of pressure to breastfeed. It’s a lot of work to breastfeed and pump, that’s what I’ve been doing too. But when it comes down to it, formula works just fine. Many babies are fed with formula and they don’t have any problems from it. They usually switch to eating only solid foods sooner than breastfed babies too. Your baby will be crying or fussy if they are still hungry after a feed, so that is how you know if they’re still hungry. At least that has been my experience.
