I started breastfeeding when my son was born 7 years ago, I was lucky enough to be able to exclusively pump for one whole year with him because he wouldn’t latch right
sadly to me I had to supplement a little with formula which killed me but I don’t know why lol. They don’t really teach you how to successfully breastfeed or pump
I had my baby girl one year ago and she was in the nicu two weeks on a feeding tube so she didn’t get a chance to latch, when she came home I successfully latched her a little bit but she needed to gain a certain amount of weight and eat a certain amount of milk every two hours so I mostly pumped so I knew what she was getting so we didn’t have to go back to the nicu , because those days were the worst of my whole life . She eventually stopped latching all together , personally I think it’s because it’s just easier to drink from a bottle for her. I successfully pumped and fed her 100% breastmilk until she was 10 months old when my supply drastically dropped , I borrowed a medela symphony from wic and pumped every two hours to try to bring my supply back and was determined to give her 100% breastmilk for one year and nothing was working , I took a pregnancy test and it was positive… which was shocking because it took 7 years to get pregnant with my one year old . I had to then supplement with formula and I still pumped and fed her breastmilk until she was a year old . Pumping is hard . I gave up income I gave up time with my newborn baby being connected to a pump I gave up being at events I gave up time with family but it’s just SOOOO GOOD for them it’s perfect for them. I know they make wearables but they just are not the same in my experience. I wish I could afford a momcozy wearable because I couldn’t even get an ounce out of the wearable I had . I was connected to a wall with my pink spectra every 3 hours for a year . But knowing my baby was getting the best was worth it . I am due with a baby boy in October and I’m kind of scared for my mental health to be completely honest. I hope to god he latches . And if not I don’t think I will give myself the goal of a year to pump. I think I will give my self the goal of 6 months . But until you’ve breastfeed yourself you don’t know the pain of stopping until you’ve been there . I I will probably go a year . Who knows . I will have a 7 year old a one year old and a new born. Not sure how that’s going to work with pumping but I’m gonna try my best:) okkkkk vent session over if you made it this far thank you for listening to my breastfeeding struggle ![]()

I am so proud of how far you have come it’s truly amazing mama!!! And you are so right I couldn’t agree more with this venture so valid
You are doing amazing
You are tough momma making it that long pumping is amazing! Something I learned with my first is setting small goals while breastfeeding and each time we reached it I would extend the time until I made it to a year. It really helped me to not get overwhelmed by setting a huge goal like that.
Adorable pic! What a journey! I’m glad you made it through and is still going ![]()
You are amazing! I hope you win a wearable soon! It is definitely going to be a game changer. I hope you new baby will latch so you get more time. Pumping is so challenging but we do it for our littles.
So cute!! You got this![]()
I love that WIC allows you to rent the symphony. I did it with both my journeys and couldn’t be happier with that pump, but also like you said it’s hard being connected to the wall when you feel like your missing out on so much ![]()
