I have a two month old baby. I have been breastfeeding him since birth but I also bottle feed. I feel like I need to bottle feed on top of breast feed because I don’t think he’s getting enough. When I pump, I get about 2-4 ounces each pump with a 3 hour stretch in between. But when I bottle feed he eats about 4.5 ounces every feed and that old has like a 2-2.5 hour stretch in between. Should I power pump every day to increase my supply ? He only easily latches on to my left breast. My right breast nipple is kind of flat and when we try to latch onto that one he gets frustrated and I get anxiety. But he latches super good on to Left. Anyways I’m just looking for some input on what I should do? Thanks in advance ![]()
One thing I would try before power pumping would be to offer your baby your breast more often instead of waiting 2 hours each time. The more often they latch on, the more milk you will produce. It’s all about how frequently they nurse! However, if you pump frequently, aka power pumping, it’s essentially doing the same thing. It’s just easier if you can get your baby to nurse more often so you don’t have to wash your pump as often and all the extra steps that go along with it. I hope this helps!
Babies do often prefer one side over the other, so you may want to pump on the side your baby won’t latch on if they’re not latching on that side at all. One breast should be able to produce enough for your baby though. You’ll just have one bigger than the other
I agree with this!!! The more often they practice latching the more they might do it too.
Solid advice
