Potty Training Travel

One upcoming challenge I have is that we are going on vacation in a week or so, and I started potty training last week. I’m using the training pants method, and we are having a family reunion, so there’s going to be lots of accidents I’m sure. I’m a little worried about the stress of it all, but I can’t just put her in diapers because that might set her back. Shes 20 months old. Does anyone have any tips?

My son is 2yrs old and he had his first successful try to use the toilet yesterday and then today he started to poo in the diaper again. It’s so hard to do potty training for me even tho I tried to put him constantly in the potty.

Some signs they are ready is a dry diaper for a couple hours, grabbing at their diaper when it’s full, showing an interest when you go potty. This happens between 18 months and 2 years old usually. Our parents generation started potty training at one year old though, and women in some other countries just recognize when their baby has to go without ever using diapers. I looked it up on YouTube. It’s very interesting how many different ways and ages to potty train

Sure! From what I’ve heard, you can potty training at any age. It just takes longer the younger they are. And there’s no one right way to potty train

Honestly for me when we are out and about I instead of waiting for her to tell me when she has to go potty, I just make sure to take her every hour hour in a half. They are still so young so when they are having fun they sometimes forget that they are potty trained. I potty trained mine at 22 months. Even now I think sometimes she forgets or more so doesn’t realize other places have potties lol. So where ever we go I’ll always show her the potty first and remind her hey we go potty here and then do what we gotta do. Or if we are at someone else’s house I’ll be like okay here’s the potty don’t forget to tell mommy when you have to go and usually just keep a mental note if it’s been to long. Hopefully this helps. She just turned 2 on the 20th and does amazing. We only where diapers at night panties throughout the day even when we are out and about. I can’t remember when her last accident was. good luck:heart::heart:

I’m also thinking of starting potty training soon, don’t really have tips at the moment since I haven’t had to do this for like 7 years :joy: . I don’t even remember how I did it three times already in the past with my older kids.

We used upairy training underpants for our firstborn. It absorbs everything but still allows them to feel that they’re wet without soiling their clothes. After so long they learn to be like “oh I’m wet, time to go potty” it was helpful for us for sure!

Thank you! That is so helpful and gives me hope. I know I’m just starting, but it feels like there isn’t a ton of progress yet. At this point, she mostly only knows when she is about to go, and then I only have maybe 5 seconds to get her onto her potty. I keep it nearby, but it sure is a challenge. I will have to be sure to show her where the potty is when we go out, that’s a great idea.

I can imagine it’s one of those things you don’t want to remember lol

So does upairy absorb a large pee? I have training pants from Walmart and it only absorbs some. They’re working in the sense that she tells me when she’s peeing now, but a lot of times it’s too late, and we have a puddle

It’s not as stressful as I thought it would be. The biggest thing is to react in a positive way even when they make a huge mess. Through consistency, it will eventually stick. I’ve been watching so many YouTube videos about potty training

Yes. They absorb a ton and it hasn’t ever leaked out of the outer layer for us. They’re 100x better than Walmart brand. He’s fully potty trained now so we use upsiry and Walmart training undies for regular day use.
