Hello mamas, I am looking for guidance on pumping schedule. Do I need to pump after every feed?
If you are wanting to make more milk You can pump after every feed because it will signal Your body to make more.
Are you latching baby? If so it’s not necessary to pump as your body will tell you how much baby needs based off of how much milk they drink but if you wanted a freezer stash you could pump one side while baby feeds on the other. Or if you are aiming to be an over supplier you could pump one side during and both after for 10-15min but please look up the risks that can occur for oversuppliers!
I don’t want extra supply. I want just enough to use it in emergency. I do start work at 10 weeks. I will need a schedule at that time.
Hi Mama, if you only want a little extra you can pump in the morning. Your milk is at its most. Even a little bit adds up over time.
