Recharging 🔋 &Diaper Bag ❔❓

A little me time that helps me recharge is, making the time to come here to the community to participate and interact with other moms. Also I would love to know what what was packed in your hospital bags for both mom and baby, being that I’ll be preparing to pack mines soon. Honestly not planning to pack much in baby bag, so I can have room for the things they give at the hospital lol besides the outfit he’s coming home in. Still deciding on which diaper bag I want to use, I attached a picture of 2/3 bags I have. stillme

Congrats on your coming little one!!! :heart_hands:t2: It’s a very wise thing not to pack too much in the baby bag-- wish I had known that myself haha! We had to put everything they gave us in my husband’s bag because I wayyyy over packed haha! Also love your bag options! It seems your black one would be larger (which speaking from experience, the more space in the diaper bag the better haha!) But some of the essentials for baby would be a set of baby mittens and baby cap – it’s nice to have one other than what they give you – as well as your own swaddle that stretches a smidge. I really didn’t use much else for my baby because I was so tired and didn’t want to rummage in my bags much haha! As for yourself – hygiene products! Remember to take care of yourself while in the hospital! Also if you plan to breast feed, pack breastfeeding tops/bras. If not, just comfy clothes! And if you have long hair – hair ties!!! I HAD to have my hair up in labor because it was so irritating haha!

Hopefully that’s helpful to some degree!

I would bring a swaddle, baby socks, mittens, hat, and atleast two outfits for the baby. For you I would bring some slippers or house shoes because you will want them having to walk on the hospital floors, nursing bra, phone charger, I brought a few snacks because I hasn’t eaten and was so hungry after giving birth, and pajamas that are easy to nurse/pump in. That is all I can think of right now :joy: hopefully it was semi helpful

Thank you so much that actually helped a lot, some of those items I didn’t even think about. Honestly might just even bring an empty suitcase plus the diaper bag lol. I appreciate it. :white_heart:

That absolutely helped a lot. I will be writing these down in my notes so that I won’t forget. Making myself a checklist, so it’s easy to get it all together. Especially the slippers, if I’m not mistaken they give you socks right? But even so I can’t stand to be bare footed even with socks, even when I’m home as well lol.

Yes they give you a pair of socks but I changed into some I brought later after I showered

Ok that makes sense, I will make sure I won’t forget that for sure. And some shower flip flops.

You’re welcome! And yes! I took a duffle bag for my stuff and the diaper bag for baby stuff, personally. Again, I over packed a lot, buuut it was nice having things compartmentalized when it was needed, y’know? :hugs:

Oh my gosh, yes to snacks!!! I was so hungry after labor and had to rely on hospital snacks! Love graham crackers and saltines buuut I would have loved my own snacks haha!

Congratulations mama!! Pray you have a safe and easy birth!

I packed- snacks, my own towel (the hospitals are so small) , toothbrush & paste, shower stuff, a comfy nursing shirt, comfy going home clothes, my slippers, charger for my phone, ear buds so I could listen to music or TikTok’s when baby was asleep and I was up, my own nursing pads , coconut oil for my flanges

Swaddle for baby, going home outfit both newborn and 0-3, picture outfit both newborn and 0,3. Hat, mittens, socks

The hospital provides the diapers, wipes, formula until my milk came in, baby brush, baby soap, pads and tucks for moms, along with some other stuff like burn spray etc.

Oh that’s a good one, coconut oil for the flangs, I didn’t think about that. Thank you for sharing, that’s some good stuff to add and info that I’ll be getting from the hospital. Appreciate it. :white_heart:

Oh I’m so excited for you !!! :tada::tada::tada::tada:

I loved a cozy blanket and soft comfy slippers!!!

Things I’d pack is a breastfeeding essentials kit!!! I’d keep a postpartum kit at home ready to go but bring adult diapers because those pads slip all over the place!!!

A belly band if you got one and one of these soft hospital gowns such a life savor

A few little things that made my labor and postpartum experience feel a little more comfortable and special :sparkles:

• A labor & delivery gown. So much softer and cozier than the hospital gown, and some even come with matching swaddles or hats for your little one. :white_heart:

• Your favorite pillow and blanket. Having a little piece of home brought so much comfort during our stay.

• Grippy socks. :socks: Warm, cozy, and perfect for those first walks after delivery.

• Soft receiving blankets for baby. I loved wrapping my little one in our own blankets they felt extra soft and have become such a sweet keepsake.

• A baby’s first-year memory book. Bringing ours to the hospital helped me slow down, be present, and write down all of those tiny details I never wanted to forget.

• A Momcozy stroller fan. It was such a lifesaver! It helped keep me cool and comfortable during labor and made those long hours in the hospital feel so much more refreshing.

Congratulations on your sweet little blessing to come. :brown_heart: Soak in every moment, give yourself lots of grace and remember you don’t have to have the perfect birth or postpartum experience. Your baby will only ever need you, and that is more than enough.

I packed a lot less with my second. Diapers, wipes, sleepers with the hole at the foot for easy changing, swaddles, items for shower and to feel like me, present for big brother when he came to visit. He really liked that and helped them bond. It also distracted him for a few days at home with a new baby. Fan for when I got hot. Head phones to zone out. My diapers and foam for down there. Breast milk ( note on my bag to grab it). Clothes but not much. I hope this helps

As someone who overpacked her hospital bag, here are the things I actually used:

For myself:

  • Pillow
  • Low cut comfortable tank top. I wore this and hospital provided postpartum underwear/pads during my 3 day stay. You’re not going to care how you look. I didn’t even brush my hair! lol
  • Travel size hygiene products
  • Stroller fan
  • Snacks
  • Phone charger
  • Slippers
  • I wish I had brought a nursing pillow. Baby nurses a ton and gets so heavy.
  • I wish I had brought disposable postpartum underwear and postpartum pads. I used Frida mom because they sell them at Walmart, but Momcozy makes them too. I ended up using these for almost an entire month! The hospital ones are so uncomfortable.

For Baby:

  • 2 footie pajamas of each for size preemie, newborn, and 3 months because you don’t know how big your baby will be
  • Baby hat in case the hospital one doesn’t fit. I never used the mittens
  • Full sized cushioned travel changing pad

Thank you and yes omg I absolutely have to make sure I don’t forget a fan! The AC is fine but nothing like a fan and direct air. That’s a good one. :white_heart:

Breast milk like you expressed colostrum beforehand, while pregnant?

Oh yes I do have a extra nursing pillow I can bring. And I’m going to add the Momcozy postpartum undies to my cart. I didn’t think about the 3 outfits in different sizes, that’s smart. Thank you love. :white_heart:
