I’ve been MIA from the Momcozy community and facebook groups because, honestly, I was mentally exhausted. So here’s your reminder, mommas: REST WHEN YOU CAN.
This week, I asked my parents to watch the kids, and I’m so grateful I was able to. I rested and I really needed it. It’s so hard for me to ask for help, even though I’m always telling other moms to do it. But this time, I took my own advice, and I’m so glad I did.
Please ask for help when you need it. Rest when you can. Taking care of yourself doesn’t make you less of a mom, it makes you a better one.
I feel this to my core. I always feel guilty having to take naps after my 5am pumps. But yet I’m always trying to push my husband to get some rest when he’s slap exhausted and can barely keep his eyes open!
Welcome back! Proud of you for taking your own advice and asking for help. Taking time to recharge is so necessary, you can’t pour from an empty cup. So glad you got that well-deserved rest!
I’m so glad you gave yourself time to rest. Sometimes we’re so good at reminding other moms to ask for help that we forget we need it too. You deserve that time to recharge, and taking care of yourself is absolutely part of taking care of your family.
So happy you’re back and feeling better!! I couldn’t agree more we mommas need to take really good care of ourselves to be able to give our kids our all.
Back then I felt so guilty even leaving my girls with my sister for an hour for my class this time around I do let my baby’s grandma watch over my 2 year old when she wants. I literally am getting off from getting sick and it took a huge toll on my supply from making about 30oz a day to 16oz.
It really is so important to have days of rest like that. I’m glad you were able to take a break. It’s always nice to get some time to recharge like that. And you’re right, it is so hard to ask for help. At 19 months old, I’ve still never taken a break for more than a couple hours, and that’s while my daughter is napping
Yes mama!! Sometimes we’re sooo good at telling everyone else to rest and ask for help, but when it comes to us we’re like “nahhh I got it” I’m glad you finally let your parents take the kids so you could just REST. We really underestimate how much a little time to ourselves can help when we’re mentally drained. Taking a break doesnt mean you’re slacking or being a bad mom, sometimes it’s literally what keeps us going. We need to give ourselves the same grace we give everybody else
Of course love. Thank you. Don’t forget to rest! Usually it’s because we are not hydrated enough while being sick. When it happened with me it came back to normal around 1 week!
