Working My Way Through PumpingšŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

For me, pumping is serious, but it’s not that serious. Probably not the best mindset to have, buuuut it’s the one I chose to adopt. I had to accept that my mental health and my baby having a happy mom is more important than breastmilk over formula. Thankfully, she is exclusively breastfed and we haven’t had to turn to formula, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong if that’s what works!

Now, I had to realize that while recommended, it’s not realistic for me to try and pump every three hours. Once I started stretching those pumps out to four hours and felt my supply was stable enough to skip middle of the night feeds, I felt like a new person. I stopped continuously watching the clock because that’ll drive you crazy and just very loosely follow a pumping schedule throughout the day.

While I do love my wall pump, that’s also not realistic to sit down 6 times a day and pump for 20-30 minutes. Momcozy wearable pumps gave me the freedom to move and be able to care for my baby while still being able to pump!

Pumping is exhausting but so very rewarding at the same time! Remember you’re in charge if your pumping journey and if somethings not working for you, you can always change it! Thankful for such great products Momcozy provides to make the journey easier!

Thank you for sharing. Yes pumping isn’t worth your mental health. We did mostly nursing my son prefers it. I use to pump once in the morning and here and there when needed. It’s a lot of work

Your mental health matters too:grinning_face: your right your baby needs you more that the pumping session sometimes and it’s ok

Great advice!!! I hate being stuck to the wall so thankful for wearables

I love how you shared your realistic journey of breastfeeding, how your mental health and being there is more important for your child than anything. Thank you for your honesty, I def took notes.

This was so real and raw.

I have started giving bottles more often as exclusivity nursing with 5 kids total has been such a battle

Actually, this is the BEST mindset to have! Protecting your mental health and peace of mind makes you a better mom, and a happy mom is what baby needs most. Dropping those strict schedule expectations and using wearables really changes everything! Kudos! :flexed_biceps:

Great mindset to have!

Curious what your pumping feeding schedule looks like overall if you wouldn’t mind sharing?

It’s a lot of work when you’re exclusively pumping. It’s crazy how much time it takes between pumping and washing pump parts every couple hours like that. Thankfully I only had to do that for a couple weeks. It will wear you out real quick! You definitely gotta find what works for you

In a nutshell, I pump roughly every 4ish hours- first pump usually around 7am and last around 10-11 depending on when my baby goes to bed and I feel like pumping:rofl:. She’s still eating 4oz roughly every 3 hours and every pump session I get 4-6oz just depending. We still nurse from the breast but it’s more of a comfort thing more than anything!
