Becoming a mom has been the most rewarding experience of my life, but adjusting to postpartum life wasn’t always easy. As a first-time mom, I quickly learned that taking care of a baby often meant putting myself last.
I don’t have family nearby, so it has mostly been just me, my fiancé, and our daughter. In those early months, finding time for myself felt impossible. I started small short walks, stretching, and simple workouts at home. Some days I only had 10 minutes, but I reminded myself that progress is progress.
Working out postpartum hasn’t been about “getting my body back.” It’s been about feeling stronger, improving my mood, reducing stress, and having more energy to keep up with my little one. I’ve learned to celebrate the small victories and give myself grace on the hard days.
To any mom who is starting her postpartum fitness journey: be patient with yourself. Your body did something incredible. Start where you are, listen to your body, and remember that every step counts.
