My Secret to Not Giving Up on Pumping

One thing no one warns you about is the overwhelming urge to give up on pumping when hard days hit.
For me, mornings are the absolute worst. I am someone who loves sleeping in, but instead, I have to stick to a rigid schedule, feed my older child, and get food into myself. Most mornings, I lie in bed fantasizing about throwing in the towel just to get an extra hour of rest.
To get through it, I give myself something to look forward to immediately: a little treat right when I wake up, like my favorite cookies. Is it the most nutritious breakfast? Probably not. Does it give me the emotional boost I need to sit down and pump? Absolutely.
The point is to find whatever small thing motivates you. Romantize your journey, reward yourself, and give yourself grace on the hard days—you’re doing amazing work
