So this is my third breastfeeding journey and I’m an exclusive pumper since my daughter had a bad tongue and lip tie.
What really helped me was my mentality yes I’m exhausted and I never have to pump when she’s awake so my sleep gets cut in half. Yes I’ve wanted to give up in this month of pumping but I had to remind myself of why. Why I wanted to do this and the benefits for my baby especially since she’s had two procedures done on her mouth. I have made sure I’m hydrated which is huge and I snack when I pump to make sure I’m consuming enough to give her nutrients. I use the M5’s and I have two of them so at night I can use one each time if I can’t immediately get up and wash it before the next 3-4 hour mark. I keep water and water with hydration stuff next to my bed so I can make sure to keep my fluids up all night. I have someone I can call for encouragement or even post here if I’m struggling.
We aren’t alone in this journey and I think that’s been the biggest help this time around for me. With my oldest I breastfed maybe 3 weeks with my middle son 6 months and now with my daughter I’m hoping to get to one year. I have posted in this community whenever I need anything or have questions and it’s helpful. Along with a change in mindset and giving myself grace because this journey isn’t easy
