Tips for Feeding

Listen to your baby and body. I found the best way to form a great bond between me and both of my babies was to respond to their needs by reading their social cues. I did a lot of research into the cues infants give of both hunger and satiation. The biggest ones are clenched body, rooting, and closed fists when hungry. Then relaxing body and opening fists when full/ satisfied.

The other thing that helped was reaching out to a lactation consultant with any questions. This helped ease stress which improved my milk production. If there was a question a lactation consultant could not answer I reached out to my children’s pediatrician.
