What i Wish I Knew

whatiwishiknew

This is my THIRD attempt to breastfeed, they say 3 times a charm, and this time it was right. I have been successful, 2 years and still going strong. But 1 thing i wish i knew before going in to have him was to get a pump, and bring it to the hospital with you. because not only are you learning, your baby is to. now im not saying you have to use it in the hospital, but the nurses on the labor and delivery floor gave my baby formula TWICE WITHOUT my permission or knowledge at first, because we had latching issues at first and he wasn’t nursing the best. instead of working with me, and offering a nipple shield, they gave him formula.

if I had a pump, I could of pumped and gave him my milk.

Oh wow. I can’t believe that happened. I’m so sorry

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that.

Two years is amazing! :heart_hands:Your experience is a great reminder for moms to learn about their feeding options and advocate for their preferences. Congratulations again!!

I’m sorry to hear they did that. That should not have happened

I will never understand a nurse who gives formula without the mother’s consent unless it was like a crazy emergency! Or something like that
